Spreading the Word

Tucson WILPF [Women's International League for Peace and Freedom] created this 10 foot high Jane Addams puppet to walk in Tucson's All-Souls Procession and to mark WILPF's presence at protests and demonstrations, book booths, peace fairs, etc. When Puppet Jane is present, WILPF members also distribute 4 X 6 cards saying a bit about Jane's work and WILPF's work. Because the puppet attracts attention, these audiences--most of whom aren't usually familiar with either Jane Addams' work or with WILPF--are eager to read the information on the cards. Can this spark some ideas for education activists around the U.S. to reach non-educator audiences?
