National Hypocrisy: Thank a Teacher Week
@WhiteHouse President Obama: "If there is one thing we can't say enough to our nation's educators, it is 'thank you.'" #ThankATeacher
@Thanks2Teachers #ThankATeacher tweet from the @whitehouse is much appreciated. However, U.S. #teachers expect more SUPPORTIVE #EdPolicy & less PR! #edu
@susanoha @whitehouse Your #ThankATeacher is cheap rhetoric. What counts is White House policy destroying education for common good.
@NEAMedia Teacher of the Year @jeffcharbonneau on advocacy: "Don't doubt the impact your voice can have" "http://educationvotes.nea.org/2013/04/23/teacher-of-the-year-on-advocacy-dont-doubt-the-impact-your-voice-can-have/... #NTOY #thankateacher
@susanoha @NEAToday Too bad @WhiteHouse policy reality is so far removed from once-a-year #ThankATeacher photo op. Too bad NEA refuses to expose this.
@susanoha @NEA offers 5 ways to #ThankATeacher. One is 'donate to NEA Foundation.' NEA claims this donation will help close achievement gap.
@CCSSO Everyone has a teacher to thank, even CCSSO's State Teachers of the Year! #ThankaTeacher #NTOY13 http://on.fb.me/10bucEF
@susanoha @CCSSO @whitehouse You honor a few teachers once a year while dooming the rest to misery. Shame. Your #ThankATeacher is height of hypocrisy
@susanoha @gatesfoundation Of course you would #ThankATeacher in a charter school.
The official Thank A Teacher Week doesn't begin until May but dissembling on Twitter has started, with most posts coming from the great hypocrites: The White House, CCSSO, and NEA.
Let's answer them now, and perhaps make them just a bit nervous about their thank-a-teacher formulary remarks in May. Add yours to the mix. Don't forget the hash tag: #ThankATeacher.
Here's one from last year:
