Wisdom from an Oregon parent

by Susan Ohanian

An Oregon parent mocks "Rrrrigor" word used in education.

As I pointed out in comments, I took on this word in Why Is Corporate America Bashing Our Public Schools?

That was 2004. Since then the school bashing has only gotten worse and "rigor" is used by lots of school people who certainly should know better.

Rigor is a terrible word to be applied to anything to do with children. I suggest that we should directly confront people whenever they speak the word or use it in promos for their curriculum materials.

This word is an obscenity.
