CEP Doubles Demand Against Critic Robert Kimball

Ohanian Comment: The Houston Press doesn't like me to reprint articles, so go to the url below.

Bob Kimball has been doing a longitudinal study of CEP for almost two years on all students who were referred to CEP (1999-2009). 14,771 students total. Of those referred, only 9109 showed up, a no show rate of almost 40%. Of the 14,771, only about 2100 are still enrolled in HISD or have graduated. Basically, 75% of students referred to CEP over a 10 year period are no longer in the school district which is probably the goal of the district...ie. throw out the low performers.

Of the 14,771, less than 10% have graduated from HISD.

In a just-discovered pleading that was filed September 8, CEP amended its original demand for $4.7 million from Kimball -- who has repeatedly questioned whether CEP is actually any good or just a dropout factory -- and upped the ante to at least $9 million.
