[Susan notes: What can I say about my own letter? Too angry to have any chance of being published. Sarcasm probably never works with those bozos either, but sometimes you just do what you gotta do.]

Submitted to New York Times but not published

To the editor

How nice it is that David Brooks has talked [re: "The Quiet Revolution"] to Bill Gates and to Jeb Bush about implementation of President Obama's education policy. What could be more typical of The Times op ed columnists? What would it cost, besides ideological certainty, to talk to a few teachers, parents, and academics who make a strong case against Obama policy?

It is disheartening and disgusting that The Times, which hasn't even acknowledged the passing of our great researcher who wasn't afraid to speak truth to power, Gerald Bracey, gives its op ed columnists--Friedman, Kristof, and Brooks--free rein to blather on and on about something about which they evidence such ignorance and obtuseness.
