[Susan notes: The New York Times piece to which I object was written by Andrew Rosenthal, editor of the editorial page.]
To the editor
I wonder why the New York Times chooses to spread news about loony-tune claims about the Common Core while ignoring the concerns coming from Progressives. I'm offended by the way this "hysteria reached new heights" implies all of us opponents are part of some lunatic fringe. I base my opposition to the Common Core on my 20+ experience as a public school teacher, on my extensive research observing public school classrooms in 28 states, on my passion for helping kids love reading. I know it is dangerous to allow outfits like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation buy education policy.
