Re Beyond Education Wars: Supporting preK programs is a small part of what's needed to provide equity in education. Home visits don't relieve a family's poverty. What preK and K-12 children need is a family with a living wage. As a politico once said, "It's the economy, stupid!"

Instead of looking at KIPP claims for answers, Kristoff should look at Economic Policy Institute research.
