To the editor
I am dumbstruck by what passes for English Language Arts "expertise" in your pages. The bona fides of the "ELA specialist with Student Achievement Partners" quoted fulsomely in Is Common Core killing kindergarten? (June 14, 2015) include a Yale BA in political science and a couple of years teaching math. This entitles him to just as much status as specialist on emergent literacy as the butcher, baker, or candlestick maker.
