Re: "Special Report: Building The 21st-century Learner," Annie Murphy Paul. This article mixes apple, oranges, and parsnips. Very little of it has anything to do with Common Core testing.

Declaring that teachers and parents who opt out of standardized testing are "reflexively negative" is contemptible, and insisting that university psychologists know better is an outrage. But even worse is the suggestion that children of affluence can sing, dance, and do art in school but children of poverty need lots more retrieval practice (that beast formerly known as test prep).

Calling a pig a peacock does not give it feathers.
