How Common Core Can Help in the Battle of Skills vs. Knowledge, (Aug. 28, 2015)

As a longtime teacher, I was stunned by the ugly assertion that low income children "are the least likely to acquire the kind of knowledge they need at home."

Centuries ago, Plutarch squashed the notion of education as filling a bucket.

Not to cast aspersions on the writer, but maybe her own Ivy League and legal education, not to mention serving on the board of an outfit for which Common Core architect David Coleman is an advisor, provide too limited an experience locus from which to speak with much authority about the knowledge base of low income families.
