To the editor

Matt Miller claims that the worst teachers "are blighting the lives of countless kids."

He ignores numerous societal issues that contribute to poor student performance over which even the "best" teachers have never had control and never will.

His simplistic solution to achieve results by making teachers millionaires will not change this.

After all, in the corporate world, extravagant compensation has never guaranteed extraordinary results.
