To the editor

Gov. Janet Napolitano, as co-chairwoman of a national task force with ties to the Democratic Party, announced that she is advocating a standardized curriculum for all 50 states.

Apparently she wants Big Brother (read Washington bureaucrats) to decide what our children will be taught. How frightening! And dangerous!

Historically, local school boards and state departments of education, responsible to the citizens, made decisions governing local schools.

If the citizens do not like what is being done, they have recourse in the ballot box. Under the governor's plan, what recourse would we have?
