To the editor

Re “Is It Time to Pay for Peace of Mind?” (Feb. 16): I encourage The New York Times to pursue an investigation into the precise methodology used to pick the top 208 New York schools. I suspect that the mayor’s seemingly innocuous choices were actually influenced by high-ranking officials or parents with money.
