I can't believe that our country has had to live with the NCLB Act, a bad act. After 6 years, some are still touting the values of this bad act. But I have taken a bit of solace in knowing that finally, some are realizing that the name of the law deceives. My question is: Why is this law still on the books? There is is enough evidence that tells us the NCLB Law is a punitive one, which actually inhibits learning and strangleholds our students, our teachers, and ultimately our fragile democracy. Or maybe this is the NCLB Law's intent in the first place.
