To Doug Christensen

Dear Doug Christensen:

I don't think e-mails are a very good means of conveying heartfelt thanks, but I am opting to do that nonetheless. Our Coalition for Better Education, Inc. (www.thecbe.org) and I recently learned that you are leaving your post as Nebraska's Commissioner of Education. You have been such a strong advocate for our children, for our teachers, and for the critical and fragile relationship between them which, when nurtured, inspires meaningful education.

We wish you well in your future endeavors. Please know that your voice of sanity, common sense, and resistance to the draconian invasion of high stakes standardized testing resonates throughout the nation, and certainly here in your neighboring state of Colorado where you have been an inspiration to many. I am among them.

In great appreciation,

Don Perl

President,

The Coalition for Better Education, Inc.
