NCLB Outrages

24 Hawaii schools will be restructured

The state will soon take over 24 schools because they did not meet the requirements for the federal No Child Left Behind Act. As part of the restructuring regional school superintendents could hire education agencies to help train teachers and assist in areas where student test scores lag.

Here is a list of the schools:

O'ahu

* Nanakuli High and Intermediate

* Waipahu Intermediate
* Waiahole Elementary

Hawai'i

* Hilo Intermediate
* Kea'au Middle
* Kealakehe Elementary
* Na'alehu Elementary and Intermediate
* Pahoa High and Intermediate

Maui

* Kahului Elementary
* Maunaloa Elementary
* Pa'ia Elementary
