10 Top Ways You Know You're In a "Reading First" School

Susan Ohanian Comment: I can't post double column articles on this site (sometimes an old dog just can't learn new tricks), so go to the url below for this one). And if someone wants to give me easy directions for creating code for two-column posts, I'd be very grateful.

The U. S. Department of Education posted this gem on their website: Ten Top Ways to Know You're In a Reading First School, and I decided it needed translation.

Funny thing: Gary Stager, the editor of The Pulse, who posted my translation, worried that I'd made up the left-hand column. I mean, he figured nobody would tout those principles as something worthy.

Nobody, that is, but the U. S. Department of Education, paid for with our tax dollars, yours and mine.
