NCLB Outrages

Raymond's Law of Consequences

Ohanian Comment: Although when he answered the 2004 question posed by EDGE at the World Question Center, WHAT'S YOUR LAW?, Eric S. Raymond was not talking about NCLB, his law is a useful reminder. Although some of us are convinced the motives of NCLB planners were rotten, maybe it's time we stop trying to convince people of this. What really counts now are the methods. Those methods are stealing the childhood of our students AND destroying the very profession of teaching. They are definitely the road to hell.

Raymond's Law of Consequences
