Reading First Commemorative Postmark<

Ohanian Comment: You might think this item belongs in The Eggplant, but it is official information from the U. S. Government, via the Miko Group, who have contracted to manage a Reading First event. According to their website, the Miko Group, Inc. assists government and military agencies with project management. Miko Group is a highly agile, flexible, and customer responsive, professional services company. They are headquartered in Norman, OK, with offices in Washington, D. C.

Reading First Commemorative Postmark
A special pictorial cancellation will be created to commemorate the conference and honors the creation of a Reading First Philatelic Station. Representatives from the United States Postal Service will set up a temporary philatelic station in the lobby area of the Opryland Convention Center at the following times:

Monday, July 28 @ 10:00am ΓΆ€“ 2:00pm
Tuesday, July 29 @ 10:00am ΓΆ€“ 2:00pm
Wednesday, July 30 @ 10:00am ΓΆ€“ 2:00pm

Three companion envelopes will be provided with your conference materials. You may also send personal mail and postcards; all mail must have first-class postage affixed in order to be hand-cancelled with the special postmark. The image on the special postmark will remain the same each day, however, the date will change so that outgoing mail can be processed properly. First class postage stamps and plain envelopes will be available for purchase from USPS.
