More Early Reading Boondoggles.

What are the chances of Stephen Krashen getting a response from someone at NCTE who voted the organization's support of the LEARN (sic) Act?

Ed Week has published a paper, "Unproved Early-Reading Program Likely to Prevail," which mentions that the LEARN (sic) Act features a preschool skills-based program. An earlier version of this program costs $80,000 per classroom and the results were "disappointing." Can you think of better ways of spending $80,000? I knew you could.
