Beware of Being Offered a Seat at the Table

People leading professional organizations who cooperate and collude with government officials and their synchophantic allies with the excuse "Now we have a seat at the (NCLB reading mandates)table," would do well to remember King Frederickk II of Sicily, who offered two men a seat at the (scientific) table.

In the 13th century, King Frederick II of Sicily wondered whether digestion was
faster when one rested or exercised after eating. To answer the question, he gave two men a seat at the table and fed them identical, sumptuous dinners. Afterward, he had one nap while the other went off for a vigorous hunt. For the final phase of the experiment, he had both men returned to court, where they were immediately disemboweled in front of him. Upon
scientifically examining their stomachs, he concluded that the sleeper had digested his food better.*
