Susan Notes: Kudos to Nebraska teacher Michael Baker, definitely a teacher who's making a difference.

Longtime Nebraska Social Studies teacher Michael Baker hosts a weekly radio program, Room 101. Dedicated to "double-plus relevant" issues regarding public education, featuring deliberations and discussion with guests and listeners. Each week, Michael interviews a prominant figure, someone with strong feelings about education, and invites call-in questions. You can listen online. Take a look at the coming attractions.

It's KZUM, Wednesdays at 6:00-6:30 P. M. (Central Time).

Here is the upcoming schedule:

October 18: Dr. David Moshman of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, whose book The Daughters of the Plaza de Mayo is an adaptation of the weekly vigils held by the Argentinian mothers of children abducted and killed during the Dirty War (1976-1983). He confronts the societal forces of denial and the ways they can be challenged.

October 25: Rich Gibson.

Nov. 8: Nebraska Education Commissoner, Doug Christensen

Nov.15: Barbara Brodhagen and her middle school model
