Three Say NO Billboards Go Up In Colorado

Susan Notes:

I have watched the Coalition for Better Education grow from half a dozen people raising money with car washes and cookie sales to a resistance organization with national clout. Led by Don Perl who, as a Greeley teacher was one of the first in the country who refused to give the state test (CSAP), this is an organization working for children. I am proud to share their latest news.

Dear Colleagues and hermanos de confianza:

Thanks to our work with CBS Outdoor Advertising and representative Brett Kelley, and the contributions that many of you have made to the cause to inform parents of their rights to exempt their children from the boondoggle of CSAP testing, we now have for the month of January three billboards installed. Two are on the eastern slope, one near Colorado Springs and one near Pueblo. A third billboard is on the western slope near Montrose. If you go to to our website (www.thecbe.org) you can see how two of the billboards look. The one near Pueblo has a different look. It simply says, Say NO to State Tests, then has our logo of CSAP encircled in red with a red diagonal line through the acronym. And then the statement: "Learn more at www.thecbe.org."

I have already had a number of e-mails and calls from both students and parents wanting more information. If you are among them, or know people who would like more information, please direct them to my office at the University of Northern Colorado - don.perl@unco.edu.

In solidarity,
The Coalition for Better Education, Inc.
